Recently, China Energy Engineering Group Co.Ltd (CEEC) got the bid contract CB02 to transport 151000 tons cargos which include non-navigable spans bridge, steel box beam, steel pylon structures.
The first 24 axle lines self propelled modular transporter–SPMT from CHINAHEAVYLIFT are at Zhongshan Guangdong base of bid BC02 for transporting steel box beam, this marked the beginning of the steel structures transportation of SPMT for Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. Another 96 lines CHINAHEAVYLIFT SPMT will be delivered to the project in the second half of 2013.
Learned from the project scene, the transportation system of CHINAHEAVYLIFT SPMT includes two components: platform vehicle (4 axle lines module and 6 axle lines module) and power pack unit (PPU). Compared with ordinary hydraulic trailer, SPMT has obvious advantages: powerful load capacity, the max load capacity is 40 ton/line, it’s self propelled modular transporter which adopts the static hydraulic drive; the electric – hydraulic multi-mode steering system, the steering angle is +130°/-100°.
It can realize the motion of each position and point when running; according to the characteristics of the cargo (overall dimension, weight), it could be combined randomly to achieve the transportation of mega heavy objects, it has powerful combination network , the distance between two units CHINAHEAVYLIFT SPMT can be 100m, and also can be operated synchronously via a wireless remote control.
Based on the one-country-two-system policy and the first cooperation between Hong Kong, Macau and China mainland, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge will connect Hong Kong on the east bank of the Pearl River Delta to Zhuhai and Macao on the West bank. This project is a major China infrastructure project. It is also part of the China highway network planning in the Pearl River Delta area, key works across the Lingding Sea and connection of the east and west coast of the Pearl River. It is also regarded as the most complex in technology, highest construction requirements and standards, most strict in safety and environmental requirements project in the China transportation construction history.
The main bridge and tunnel is estimated to have a length of 49.968 kilometers which will be built jointly by the three regional governments. The total capital investment in the project will be RMB 79.20 billion. The Mainland, Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR will contribute respectively.
